Helios 103 on a Contax II

This is the first lens that I have "doctored". I usually stick with camera bodies, I've successfully converted a Nikon F into my version of a Bessa L and it is quieter than the Bessa. My current project is to convert a nikon F into a coupled rangefinder LTM camera. I've got the basics done but I'm still scratching my head over the range finder coupling.

I would like to see that project posted here.

You might be able to transfer the RF mechanism of a fixed-lens RF to the Nikon F. Most of them work using a Rangefinder Cam Follower that rides the back of the lens. Worth picking up a dead RF and take it apart.

Yes- I have made a couple of these, my favorite being in Collapsible Mount using left-over parts from the Sonnar conversions.

Here's the rangefinderless Nikon F alongside my Nikon F with a modified prism.

The Nikon rangefinder version has the rangefinder from a Konica Auto S3. It's nice and compact and will give the camera a nice low profile.

That is very impressive! Good thing you live in a remote location though, some enraged Nikon fans might want to have a word with you 😀
