I would have kept the 5d the price of secondhand user M2s are dropping all the time I've seen M2s for as little as £250 here in the UK.
I'd love to know where :
FFordes £350 Exc
Aperture £470 Ex+
Reddot £599 Ex++
Ace £449 Ex+
PeterLoy £495 D/C
Camtech £345 user
MWClassic £345 91%
Ebay Item number: 140286596409 Starting at £350
Ebay tem number: 150315364183 Starting at £375
These are lowest prices items listed at these UK sites. Some major sellers (Richard Caplan, Classic Camera) have no M2s listed but nearly every other variant in stock. I see M2 prices on the rise here but am willing to look at your evidence of course.
BTW Many congrats. to the OP, I was out meterless with M2 and shooting 5222 today it is bliss to be a contrarian.

... likes film again.
I got mine for $900 from an eBay seller in a packet with DR Summicron, googles, Leitz SL filter and Leitz metal hood. When I bought mine (3 weeks ago) there were many sold in the $500 range and some "well-used" down to $350.

i have a black m2 and would like a rapidwinder for it!
I also would like to have a black rapid-winder for my M2 (I already have one for my M4-P). These are really great !

If you want black M2 Rapidwinders, please email me on " rapidwinder.com". They are currently out of stock and as my total stock of housings is nearing its end, I have to estimate how many chrome and how many black to make in the final batch.
These are the IXMOO winders, meaning that you can also use the re-loadable Leica cassettes with them.

"Flim? You want flim?"
I thought the lens alone made it a good deal.![]()
I'm sure that's right! You gotta be happy with a trade like that.

I picked one up for $465 and consider it a theft. It seems whatever I happen to be looking to buy, the price goes through the roof. Usually, when I am tired of it and want something new, the price for that old item drops like a stone when it's time for me to sell.

Well the other thing to consider is the price of the 5D is also falling, and would probably keep falling especially with the release of the 5D Mark II. I found M2 prices to be fairly stable at around $500 - $700 USD and supplies of M2's to be fairy scare.
But perhaps more importantly, more than declining prices, the 5D wasn't getting any use. It was sitting in the corner of the room for the last 8 months or so. With the trade I get a camera that will see more action and a pretty nice lens to boot. I think the lens alone would have been over $1,000 (just estimating, correct me if I'm wrong)....but anyway, I get a new shooter...wooooo!!!!!!!!

Congratulations. I carry my M2 with me nearly every day, and that's the only way to get pictures out of it. Enjoy.

The end of your stock of housings is in sight? You mean this is the end of the rapidwinder? Tom, you can't be serious!

I am slowing down production as the "digital tsunami" is slowing down sales- which is fine. I have been making them for 21 years now and, truth be told, I rather shoot with them than make them.
Initially I made 300 of the M2 winders over the last 6-7 years and they sold out. Once I went back to shooting XX from 400ft cans - decided to make some for IXMOO cassettes. My goal was set at 100 and thats how many housings and custom top plates i did run. It is not cheap to build up an inventory like that (multiple M8's and 50/0.95 lenses). I have kept enough aside for my own M2 stash and the last 38-40 are now waiting doe assembly.
I will still make some of the m6/MP winders, but only on special order.
