Just wanted to say Hi to all members. I'm very pleased that there is a forum for all Contax G users, it feels good to share your ideas with others and also learn from what others have gone through.

I recently bought a G1 with 28/2.8 and 90/2.8. They are wonderful lenses, sharp and balanced. For mid range lense, I use my Rollei 35S with a 40mm which is a little gem.

I think if there is only one major reason to buy into the Contax-G system, it is the lenses. I bought (used) mine mainly for the 21mm lens... even with the cost of the body added, I figured it was the least expensive top-quality f/2.8 21mm available. Just too good and too low-cost to pass up! The 28mm was the second lens I got -- I just could not resist -- and I agree it's outstanding. I had been using 28mm on other cameras quite a lot, so this Biogon-G was a very welcome addition. Here's a 21mm shot...

Groovy shot by Doug, and yes welcome Ivan. The G1 is a good camera for the price and functions. I had one, liked the infrared beam for low-light focusing a lot. Enjoy!
