hello, i want to introduce my self!

Strangefinder, welcome and wilkommen!

As for the paranoia in this thread and elsewhere, heed the words of The Kinks.

There is no evidence (that I've seen) that anyone is attacking the site, removing posts, etc. Anyone in IT who has ever done a server move should know just how many things can go wrong by themselves.

Let's all use our active imaginations to create great photos, not conspiracy theories!

Kim has asked me to let the moderators handle possible hoaxes in the future.

I apologize to all of the members here for having jumped the gun and caused a ruckus.

Nevertheless, this has turned out to be quite a funny dialogue.

Reinhard, welcome to the forum, I hope my posts didn't sway you to leave at the moment you arrived. I understand about the spelling now ... just a dialect of sms is all.

Kindest Regards,
Kevin

Willkommen, Reinhard! My Kaiser Dictionary is 105 years old, so I will use my native tongue. I would like to see some shots from your Super Ikonta. I sold mine last year and miss the big, detailed prints from it. I have been to Deutschland several times and enjoyed my holidays there immensely!

If you use the "post reply" button instead of the quick reply, then you can attach an image that displays as a thumbnail on the bottom of your post. Scroll down a bit and click on "manage attachments." Example below.

I'm the other way around. I'm not sure how imbed an image into the post.

Cheeers,

Mönchengladbach, nice! I stay there from time to time when the hotels in Erkelenz are booked out.
I'll be in Heinsberg for two or three days in the near future when the Telekom got the E1 line to the Kreiswasserwerk running.

Hallo Reinhard,

Welcome to the forum!

Just to make sure you aren't an imposter(we have been terrorized by a banned member with a form of mental disease), please be so kind as to answer the following questions in grammatically-perfect German (ie. no grammar, spelling or capitalization mistakes).

1. Warum gefällt Dir die Meßsucherkamera? (Why do you like the rangefinder camera?)

2. Wie hast Du dieses Forum gefunden? (How did you find this forum?)

3. Warum schreibst Du Englisch nur mit Kleinbuchstaben? (Why do you write english with only lowercase letters?)

We hope you enjoy this forum, Reinhard!

viele Grüße,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,
I think your avatar deserves enlargement in a separate attached pic.

Cheers,
Ruben

Welcome Strangefinder ! As halfgerman (from my father side) I should say willcommen , but unfortunately my german is quite primitive ! I come on a regular basis in the Stuttgart area and I like very much Heidelberg. Planning to spend a few days in Berlin in a near future. ciao

Ql17

Ql17

I'm dissaopointed about my quiz, nobody knows that camera?
last chance. (no leica!)

last weekend i bought a canonet QL17 (22 Euros) with little fungus in the lens.
i know it wont be visible on pictures, but does anybody knows how to resolve this problem?

thx for help!

reinhard

Ammonia based cleaners will clean fungus off of the lens. The problem is "dead Fungus" left for a long time will etch the coating, and even the glass. Get to it ASAP.

I dunno about the bottom-advance-lever-thingy... It looks like he's cradling the camera with his left hand and maybe using a lens tab/focus lever with his left index finger?

There are a few cameras that have those... but the XA is the one that springs to mind. Looks too big for an XA though, and the viewfinder is not central enough! So I have no idea! 😀
