Hi everyone!

Just wanted to introduce myself...quickly 🙂

I started shooting about 2 yrs ago with an Electro 35GSN...not knowing anything about the camera I was suprised by the results I got after a camping trip on the Olympic Coast (Ozette). I was hooked and started to put more & more film thru the camera with good to bad results. I then bought a camera from Cameraquest...a BessaR2 with CV 35mm. That is when I started really learning about photography and the darkroom. I love it!, but the cost (time too) is becoming a bit much for me and have just now purchased a computer, scanner and PS Elements. I won't give up the darkroom, but I need a cheaper way to proof my work.
I also just bought a Yahica 124G and will now also start to get into medium format...2006 will be a learning process indeed!

I look forward to sharing my photos with ya'll (gonna be awhile) and learning more about rangefinders, techniques and the magic that is photography. 😀

Cheers.
Jason C.

Hey,

You have found the right place. Wlcome.

The only catch here is that you will start buying loads of gear. LOADS, MOUNTAINS.

Hey Jason, How are you mostly using that YasicaMat? Are you using it for landscapes or portraits with a tripod. I'm trying to use mine more as a street camera but it's taking some adjusting. Welcome to the RFF, JimG

Thanks everyone...

Well, I never thought I would cut the cost down too much 😀 but the darkroom rental, paper and time was breaking the bank, especially because I'm new and it takes a LOT longer for me to do a print then a pro. I HOPE that ya'll don't convince me to buy too much tho 😉

Jim-
The YashicaMat is a new purchase (in the mail) and the thought was to use it strictly for landscape shoots... I want to blow up my landscape shots bigger than 8x10" without too much grain.
I love streetphotography (I'll enter the contest) and hope I can incorporate that camera to grab some shots.
I'll have to check out some of your work.

Cheers.

Welcome Jason to the RF fraternity! May I suggest that you go the digital darkroom path as I have been doing it since 2003 and love it! It is the most economic path in film photography if you are not into printing alot of your work. Looking forward to see your perspectives. 🙂
