I'm in Budapest for a few days... does anybody happen to know of a well-stocked photo shop that sells film in this town? I'm runnin' low on Ektar and would love to try the new Portras!

I'm staying in the Belvaros area; closeness of shop to Vaci Utca / Ferenciek Ter would be a definite plus.

Have a look to this thread. I was at Soós and bought some b&w film. Sure they have also color or can indicate you a place to buy it.
BTW, they have lot of used gear.... it worths while a visit anyway...

Cheers,

JoSe

OK, I'll look into these leads. Thanks guys :)

Edit: OK, I eventually found my way to Soós. Which was not, certainly not, placed at Jozsef Attila u. 22 any more, it has moved to Wesselenyi u. 10; right behind the magnificent synagogue at the southern corner of the old Jewish quarter. They had a fair selection of used equipment including some oh-so-cute LTM Leicas, but their film offering was rather pathetic. Mostly Fuji only, and mostly the consumer variants.

Visited Fokusz Foto Kft., Budapest (Buda side) yesterday to buy professional and amateur 35mm colour print film (Fuji and Kodak). They also have a full assortment of b+w film. Was waited on by friendly English-speaking chap (Laszlo Szalai). Store closed Sat+Sun. Entrance is on Tas st. (vezer), not Bocskai ut 34/B.
