Help !

I've been using a Zorki with a Leica Summitar lens as my main camera for the last 2 years now, but I feel an irresistable pull from the dark side, aka digital ! Now, I'm on many a forum and there's always a lot of good talk about plenty of subjects, but when I come back here, I also feel like I should stay with the Zorki and take good old fashioned RF portraits in film and have them scanned.

Now I'm drawn between hard core capitalism and friendly nostalgic communism ! What to do ? 😱

I can't understand all the angst about digital. Film is just a medium, often the best for the job. Digital capture is just another medium, and sometimes the best for the job. Rangefinders are just another style of camera. SLR ditto. Large format ditto.

Use whatever you enjoy using. With film and rangefinders, I enjoy the process just as much as the results. This is just a hobby.

I use both... I still use my Leicas and I also spent a day out with my DSLR. Both mediums can coexist...

Another vote for both. I use film RFs because I'm used to them and like them and because there are some things only they can do. I use a digital SLR because with it the whole process is fast and convenient and because stock agencies want pictures in digital form.

Darkroom printing, now there's fond memories. Even just today, I was fondling with a Kodak folder but I didn't really like it (f6.3 lens and I've seen much more beautiful examples).

Obviously, I'm moving into digital and keeping the Zorki, I was just joking 😀 But if I stumble across a nice folder, I'll also be moving into MF rangefinders. As long as it's pocketable and not Nacon sized or Rolleicablad priced, I'll buy it and lug it anywhere 🙂

The digital I'm getting is a Ricoh GX100.
