I just purchased a Minolta 5400 on eBay and the seller failed to inform me that the film holders were missing (so lot of good it is doing as a film scanner...)
Does anyone have an extra 35mm film holder or know where I might procure one?
It is model FH-M10. This is the Konica Minolta Elite 5400 (version 1)

There is a seller on eBay that seems to have access to FH-M10/SH-M10 holders. Do a search...
He's from Russia (yeah, I know!), but I ordered the holders a month ago anyway. I wanted an extra set as I want to make a glass holder, but didn't want to risk ruining my original holders. To be honest, I was expecting this to be a scam, but I actually got the item as described. Shipping took 3 weeks, seller provided the tracking number a day after my payment. I left positive feedback (my eBay username is 'boarchi'). I saw today that he's got another set for sale.
Slide film holder is identical to my original SM-M10 holder, FH-M10 is a bit different. The cross bars between frames are like those on FH-M20 holders (for Minolta 5400 v2). But both holders work OK in my scanner. New negative holder even allows for scanning of a bit larger area of a frame.
I have no connection to the seller and this was the first time I've dealt with him. I'm not responsible if your transaction doesn't go as smoothly as mine...

There was someone, I think from Finland selling the 5400 film holder but the cost was something like $150 last time I looked.
I bought my 5400 from an Amazon merchant a few years back for under $300 and I remember that at the time he left out one of the holders, or sent 2 of one and none of the other, anyway at the time they could still be bought online but I think at the moment Ebay is the only solution. Too bad someone can't make replacements for these parts, it's a really fine scanner and takes up so little space.

I'm going to revive this thread, as I do have an extra SH-M10 slide holder for this scanner, but am missing the film holder like everyone else! This has been fine as I mostly shoot slides, but my processor doesn't like to mount them anymore so I need to do strips going forward.
So if anyone is in the opposite situation and interested in a trade let me know -- I don't really want to sell the slide holder right now, as if I can't find a FH-M10 I may try to hack it up and add AN glass to one side, which would also allow scanning panoramic film...
