Something is wrong .

I look around at current cameras and have no dee'sire to upgrade to any of them .
I prefer a DSLR which seem to be becoming obsolete of a niche market , a newer Pentax might be OK , but non actually make me want one.

I am content with the Sony A290/A390 twins and OK A35 for low light , plus the Panasonic L1 and Leica Dig 3 [ if I can get the stuck MD adapter off ! ]

This can't be happening to me !!!

Digitals don't do much for me. If it wasn't made in the 1960s, or earlier, I usually yawn.

I kind of feel the same way about other segments of the market.

I'm not a big DSLR lover myself, but I do see companies running towards EVFs for better or worse. Capitalism does have it's downsides, but then it's the best approach we've found so far.

Newer-different camera-lens will not make you a better photographer.

Train your eye, buy some lights. Photography is about light. Practice composting images digitally.

When you have exceeded what the camera will do, think about an upgrade.

I am at the same point myself.

Mirrorless = yawn My Leicas are mirrorless.

I certainly DO use the Brain Sweeney Contax mounted 1959 J3 on the Contaxed M8 - another reason not to be swayed by all these new offerings - which seem to be past their sell by date a year later !!
Never had this problem with Minolta SRTs !!! LOL.
So i am not alone then !!

Ronald M - Thanks - I am still working on the composition etc with my snapshots , but do find much of the technicality a bit beyond me .
The 'lostness' of ASD seems to get in the way a bit , so results can be inconsistent .
For this reason I prefer to stick with manual and nom 50-100 focal length 35mm equivalent .
Comfort zone perhaps , but it's just an escape from the confusion .

My photos will probably never be good enough to merit an upgrade-especially as I am content with the Panasonic L1 / M8 / and Sony A290 with 35 f1/8 .

I found in the past that I could not find a digital camera which hands and eyes combine to make 'real'.
Most things are somewhat separated and strangely unreal .
Now with the L1 , M8 and A290 , this is no longer an issue !!
