My Minolta Dimage Scan Dual IV started scanning strange tonight...
I'm so sad....I have only had this thing for less than 6 months.
I never had a problem with it before and even just two days I ago I was scanning with no problem.
However today I came back from the lab excited to scan my latest negatives and now everything is blown out with a green tint. I've checked all my settings, reseted to default and even loaded custom profiles, all provide the same result.
Here's an example:
(BEFORE - left / AFTER - right)

And here's another example:

They are scanned using Vuescan. I used the same application to scan with my Epson V500 today with no problem at all.
Has anyone else had this problem before?
Were you able to fix?
What do you think it could possibly be?
If anyone knows how to fix this you'll be my hero.
However, I fear it may be a hardware problem.
Any and all help is appreciated, even if you have only a faint idea.

WHOA! So apparently it's working fine again again now.
I unplugged the power cord, plugged it back in both in the wall and in the unit, everything is back to normal now.
Strange, but happy.
Hope it lasts!

An issue with the green channel... maybe dodgy electronics (I hope not, of course).
Best of luck!

Mine only lasted about a year or so. It just made grinding noises when it failed. I get the impression they were not too reliable.

Recycling the power can work wonders! My Scan Dual conked out, too. Precision Camera Repair was the Authorized repair, but they sent it back unrepaired, said they couldn't fix it. Presently I'm very happy with my Coolscan V.

Interesting that you'd post before thinking to reset the damn thing...

I did reset it!
I unplugged it and plugged it back in once from the back of the unit.
First time it didn't change anything. Second time I thought...well maybe if I unplug it from the wall AND from the back of the unit it might work....and weirdly enough it did.
Usually, I wouldn't suspect such a simple thing would fix it.
So yeah, I do feel a little bit silly about the post...but I was in full panic mode when it happened!
