I want to get either a Zeiss Ikon or a Leica M6. In order to afford it, I will have to sell off some stuff. Here is what I'm thinking of selling in order to afford either body:
Contax G1 with 45mm lens and TLA 120 flash
Nikon FE2 (chrome)
Nikon 24MM f2 AIS, 35mm f2 AIS, 50mm f1.2 AIS, 105mm f2.5 AIS lenses
Canon Canonet QL17 GIII
Zeiss Nettar 517/16
I'm thinking of selling off gear because I have to much stuff that doent get used. Which camera would you choose when all is said and done? The Ziess Ikon or the used M6?

I chose the ZI-M because of the finder, faster maximum shutter speed, and I didn't want to pay that much $$$$ for a camera that could be up to 9 years old (for a M6 TTL). The inconvenient bottom loading was also a disadvantage to me.

The M6 is clearly an excellent camera. You can't go wrong with either. You just have to decide what is more important to you. For example, the ZI is lighter which I consider an advantage (I carry the ZI everywhere), but others think the light weight makes the camera seem cheap.

I don't know if you have considered M4-P instead of M6. Since you're worried about how to fund this, M4-P is M6 only without a built in meter. And it's much cheaper so you don't have to sell as much stuff.

Btw, I saw you have a Zeiss Nettar, that's too nice a camera to get rid off 🙂

well, the nettar has the f6.3 lens. it was my first 120 folder. i upgraded to the zeiss super ikonta IV with tessar lens. im keeping that. 😀
ill keep the mamiya 645 pro tl, the nikon f100 with various af lenses, and the rolleiflex mx-synch. id like to get something with a built in meter. i have the sekonic l-308s meter for the rollei and super ikonta.
