help me identify these yashicas

please.

the picture is fuzzy and i am not totally familiar with all the models enough to confidently say i know what i am buying into. i see the mg-1 quite clearly. i also think the bottom right looks like a fx-d.
i will be trolling online and trying to figure this out and will post my ideas throughout the day. i know a lynx is supposed to be in this lot and a TL. what is the small one of the left top? i sure hope i got some nice fixed lens RFs!
yay for jon goodman and his sealing kit! he inspired to to try my hand at seal and other minor repairs.

the lynx is on the bottom left.

the little one looks like a chrome Electro CC? Looks like a couple GSN's tho they are missing the front badge.

edit - hmmm, maybe not a CC, looks like it doesn't have an RF on the tiny one.. maybe just a scale focus cam.

which lynx is it? i was hoping for the ic/14e but doubt i will get that lucky.
and i don't mind the missing tags, i mind other things missing. these are user cameras for me, i want functionality.
the poor condition ones will be guinea pigs for me to learn repair. and i plan to give away those i cannot repair or use to members of this board.
do you see any major issues on these photos? i worry that the entire batch is duds. the seller said "i'm sure some of these work" but that they had been in storage for a while. the seller had 100% positive feedback and hundreds of feedback at that, so i felt comfortable.
i am learning the hard way about auction sellers and cameras. vintage camera purchasing through online auctions is risky!

looks like either a lynx 1000, or 5000. The lens is too small for a 14. But it is hard to tell in this pic.

Lower left> 5000, the one next to it is an early G (with screwed up shutter).
The one on top of the G is another early G. These are usually only going to have a top asa of 500.

i saw the shutter was open on that one.
these don't sound like users at all. i am having the worst luck with yashicas, it might be time to throw in the towel...

I'd say you'll have enough there to cobble together at least 1 really good working one. maybe more.

The lynx's are easy to fix, and there are several people around that can do great work on the Electros.

You might have to spring for a CLA, but I wouldn't worry yet. It might be as simple as needing a few squirts of lighter fluid to get those working. Hard to know.

not jbeckwitht in ny, i hope? i lost $61 and my emails were ignored for months. it was my first bad experience with these. luckily ebay is getting me $25 of the $61. i don't bother paying for insurance for auctions items anymore after my experience with that person...
a fast lens and an accurate light meter is what i am looking for. i don't care about timers, flash, looks, etc. i need a camera that i can bring along and not worry about in more dangerous environments. i don't mind resealling it myself. quite look forward to it, actually.

Greyhoundman sometimes repairs his old ones and sells them here. And they are prized by the lucky buyers.

Otherwise, you generally should expect to do minor repairs, or have them done for you. In addition to new seals, and battery fitting.

yes, beckwith. i met another person on this forum who she worked over and we are now friends (well, i feel this way at least) so overall, it was a positive experience. i very much like my new misery buddy.
maybe i should only buy from others members here for now on. not doing too well on the auction site. people say things like "like mint" and "working" when in reality the are parts cameras.
is there a tutorial link on this site to teach me to avoid this, and what to ask sellers who are not camera savvy?

well, i figured out how to use the second yashica electro disaster cam (dented filter, obvious hard drop) and was able to make my own battery adapter. then i looked up how other people did this, and i found that i did it quite similarly.
i made a spring out of metal wire and a little clump of tin foil, and then bought some clear plastic tubing from the hardware store and cut a little slice to wrap the battery in to bulk up it's width.

what kinds of minor repairs can i expect to do? i follow about seals, batteries, and how to check if the rangefinders are accurate and if the timing sounds off. but are the next hardest things? the pad of death sounds horrible. maybe it's just the name.

this is all terribly fascinating to me. i was meant to shoot film. and fondle vintage cameras. it just took me 30+ years to figure that out!

it was 69 usd including shipping....which comes to just under $10 per camera.

I think, all things considered, you got a bargain. If any of them are working, or salvagable, you can make you money back easily.

you might be right. the first yashica i got (well, never got) cost me $61 with shipping, so this deal, should it arrive, is much better! the seller shipped it this morning priority mail so we shall see.

i just want one to work and a few to experiment with and some from presents for forum members. that is a lot to ask of the universe it seems.

kicking myself now though. i bid on a broken stereo cam, 9 yashicas, and various other things in the last month, and then last night this week a hexar silver went on ebay for a decent price. if i had not been so naughty, i could have had that babydoll instead.

lesson learned.
(i hope people keep chiming in all day on this thread to help identify. this is quite the fun time)

It's not an MC or an ME is it? These are not rangefinder cameras, but scale focus models with f2.8 lenses that are "excellent" according to Yashica Guy.

Don't know the model but the little guy is the upper left is very likely a scale focus camera. I'm guessing a 35 or 38mm f/2.8 lens with distance click-set set on the lens barrel...? Full AE; shutter/aperture combo by needle display in VF...? It looks pretty simple and I'll bet you a nickel it works when you put a 1.5 volt button battery in it.

It reminds me of a scale-focus Minolta Hi-Matic G, which was one of the best cameras I ever owned and the one I regret selling to this very day.

The SLR on top looks like a TL Electro or TL Super. I've never used one but they are reported to be good cameras and very tough. If it's working you'll be happy with it. It might also use readly available SR44 batteries, which is nice.

it would indeed be nice if some of them were easy to raise from the dead. alas, i fear this lot was all bad, because after researching the seller, i see he sells all camera stuff, and might be one of those people who states that the cameras were never tested even though they know there are major issues. i guess i won myself a parts lot in the end.
however, he seller had the 100% feedback and repeat customers.
putting myself in ebay timeout. if i had not been bidding on yashicas like a madwoman i might have been able to afford the hexar silver that went for cheap this week.
i should get this package tomorrow or friday if priority mail does their thing right. of course, i will let you guys know the details.
god, i hope one works so i can at least feel like i got value out of the lot!

You and I need to go shopping together here (Korea). Yashicas are plentiful and cheap.....and you can SEE if they are working or not before you plunk down the green. I avoid evilbay like a plague--brings out the worst in people, I'm afraid.

funny that you joined this thread. i had an urge yesterday to pm you, but now the reason escapes me. it will come back later i am sure.
you have quite the artillery there. so many of the cameras i lust for.
so what do you mean you can see them before buying? are they in stores there alot? do you ever buy cameras for other members (money up front of course) in the US who fight an uphill battle on the auction site?
i very much agree. the auction site brings out horrific evil in people. but i feel a little better knowing i am not the only one having issues. the classifieds section here is full of frustrated people having issues getting these older RFs. i am not alone.
