Hi, I am trying to figure out what the dial is for on the left hand side of the camera as you look at the back. Also how it works. Does anyone know of an online free user manual? Many thanks.

What dial are you referring to?

I don't have a link to a DC manual, but here's one to the RD manual, which is very similar except it has manual settings for shutter and aperture, which the DC does not.

Hi, as you look at the pic you posted of the DC, it's on the right hand edge of the camera and makes reference to bulb or electro flash. It's a dial which spins round and also a switch that has 2 positions. I just wondered what they did?

The RD is quite different, it doesn't have that dial or switch and doesn't have the GN dial ob the top.

Thanks for that link, really helpful. It mentions the flash selector switch but doesn't explain why the dial part turns continuosly. Probably means mine is broken but it does show that up is for electronic.

Hi. The red dot on the movable section should be at about 2 O'clock for electronic flash and about 4 O'clock for the old bulb flashes. The dial should be stationary with the blue print at the top and the red at the bottom.

Hi pete63UK

I've got an Oly 35DC with a 'bashed in' lens ie its just a bits and pieces job.
I bought it 'to do something with' but will never get round to it. The dial you refere to doesn't go round and round.
It must be worth something as 'spares' and if you are interested make me an offer to include p&p.

Best wishes
Jesse
