When I tried to refit my Zorki 4's slow speed compartment, and check that everything was okay, something terrible happened. When I pressed the shutter release, only the first curtain travelled by, leaving the shutter shutter open. Now when I cock the shutter, only the other curtain works.
Can anyone tell me what has happened and can it be fixed, or has my Zorki gone into the camera heaven.
I'd be happy for any advice, but I'm afraid that whatever it is, it exceeds my reapairing skills.

Go to the sticky at top of fsu forum page and read the sticky on How to: Fed & Zorki curtain shutter tension. Might be the tension is loose on the 2nd curtain? Don't know but I would check this first. Easy to do if you have a set of needle nose pliers & screwdriver.

I managed to solve the problem. I had just misplaced the slow speeds. The main problem why I took my Zorki apart in the first place, still remains. The 2nd. curtain still returns too slowly at speed 1/30 and gets even stuck sometimes. Other speeds work OK though.

Sounds like a CLA is needed - there's a sticky at the top of this forum if you fancy a go yourself. You might try increasing the tension on the 2nd curtain a little but if it needs more than about 1/2 a turn then a CLA is definitely needed...I managed to solve the problem.
