What camera did this Tessar lens come from? It's old, uncoated and has a focus tab with a built in helical. 12cm f4.5.
Serial Nr 579055
I'm assuming it was on a 120 mf or lf camera of some sort, but what?
Anyone have any idea? Thanks in advance.
It's built very solid. All brass. Rather heavy for it's compact size.

The SN is from about 1923. The lens may have been used on any number of cameras because Carl Zeiss Jena only made lenses and not cameras.

I just took this snapshot from my garage using a bellows attachment at about f5.6 or so. Looks sharp. I bumped up the contrast.

I think I figured it out. It goes to an Ernemann Klapp camera. Now all I have to do is find the camera at a garage sale and I'll be good to go. 😀

Hi,

Coarse and fine focus: the bellows are taken out first, then clamped, then turn the lens for fine adjustments. Don't forget you are behind the camera and moving bellows &c with a cloth over your head is a pita.
