For me 2, 3, 5, 10 really stand out above the rest. I especially liked number 2. My other four picks are 4, 7, 11, 16.

Exquisite body of work here. IMHO... 2 is 'Riveting!'

3,5,9 and 10 are also at the very top of my list.

6 and 8 are interesting and also made me think... "Why didn't I think of that!"
--
Best regards.
Tim.

I have 15 'street' shots here, I need a 'top 8' selection and I find it very hard to choose...
Just wondered, why do you need this selection?

You have some nice stuff here. If your post is that you "need 8" and they are "street" shots than I would say 3, 5, 6,7 10, 11 and 15 are OUT. As much as I love #5, and some others, if you are doing a "street" edit, I don't feel that #5 fits well with the other images that appear to connect better with the "street." I would look at the edit differently if your just looking for your top 5 and #5 would certainly be among them.

Simon, very hard to choose as I like them all! But if I were to pick 8....
1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 12, 13
Ones that NEED to be in there (IMO) are 1, 3, and 5. Those are the strongest.
Hope that helps!
May I ask what the top 8 are for?
I agree complete with this line-up, especially no.3, amazing shot.

I can see your dilemma. Your work is stunning! I couldn't choose and I've supposedly worked as a picture editor ;-) I wish you success in whatever prize, editorial, exhibition you're going for. Very high quality stuff.

I picked the ones that I would spend the most time with if I was in a gallery, and if I had to pick a theme beyond "street" it would have to be about "hands". Here's mine:
# 1
# 2
# 4
# 7
# 9
# 12
# 13
# 14
I haven't looked at what anyone else picked. Hope this helps. They are all compelling shots.

street photography is just a bit of a misleading term, really.
It's been both corrupted and misused by those who don't know how to make a good street photograph. Term derided by those who can't begin (or want) to understand it.
I think that energy is best spent doing it and/or learning it, than knocking it down.
Also, when you see who critiques what, look at their own work, and have it lend weight accordingly. The ones who are more one-tracked in their body of work also tend to be the most unforgiving of that which does not fit their view. Don't get discouraged by that.
Cheers.
So, what did you ultimately decide?
