Hi all.

I was hoping someone could help out. I need to get into a Konica Auto S2 to reattach the rangefinder mirror (and clean the viewfinder while I am in there).

I have removed the film rewind lever as well as the film advance lever but something is still preventing me from opening the camera. Is it the accessory shoe? Keep in mind I have never done this before, so no advice is too basic. Thanks.

Thanks greyhoundman, that will certainly prove helpful for reattaching the mirror. Thanks!!!

I was hoping you'd come back with a link I didn't find, greyhoundman. I did a whole slew of searches and came up empty.

I'll try again today, maybe I will get some hints on top plate removal from other cameras. Thanks for the link though, much appreciated!

I did this a couple months ago but Brian bought my S2 from me so I dont have it to look at.
Seems like the rewind lever and the film advane lever were the only parts to remove.
There is not connection to the shoe to the camera..My top was on pretty tight as I recall.
It has a huge easy to focus rangefinder on it as well as a huge Sekonic meter under the top. Look for a small piece of foam above the eyepiece that should be removed and
replaced or it will drop stuff into the rangefinder again.

GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was just stuck and I was afraid to give it a little uumph. Not always, but in this case I guess, frustration helps!

Thanks to all for your helpful advice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
