really new to RF world, so please be patient!
I've SOME glow sometimes, like in this case........

cron-50.jpg

is it normal with a recent cron 50 or is a probl. of my lens?
can I do something? check something? send it to leica and check it, or simply avoid this light condition?

I never had this problem before with slr.

thx bedo..........
I know I know the way is long.

Hi Bedo

Yeah... this is the secret that isn't broadcast too widely. My latest version 'cron does the same, and I know others do too. It's the light just outside of the frame that causes this glare. As you suggest, avoid this particular lighting condition and you should be fine. I'm trialling an Elmar-M in the hopes it'll be better in this regard. Otherwise the 'cron is pretty special lens🙄

I'll try mine

I'll try mine

Thanks for sharing.

I'll try to duplicate the lighting with my DR 50mm Summicron and see what happens.

Are you using a hood? Filter? I want to be as close to your setup as possible.

It looks like flare. To reduce the probability of this happening: take off any protective filter and use a hood. If a filter absolutely must be used, get the very best. Any filter has the potential to increase flare, so a hood is even more important when a filter is used.

thx thx thx

thx thx thx

i will repeat thx a lot for all your replies

the lens is summicron 50 f2 built in hood.......
of course I was using the hood.. it was after lunch eheheh

i don't remember the aperture but you can follow the shadows.

maybe it wil be a new challenge 'cause it is my bed vice to go counter light or what you say it (i'm italian and you now not too good in english)

I thought it was dirt, and I clean it with photosol products......etc.
now it is like new and again the glow.... so I read this lens is a bit prone to flare
and I guess someone has my own problem with it.

I told this problem also to leica italia, but the answer is "send us the lens and some photos"....I dont want to send it if it is unuseful, if it is simply a lens limit.

so I wait all your suggestions!

you are welcome.
