Help! University Darkroom Rules??

I'm enrolled at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, NY. Our photo department has a darkroom that only students taking photo courses are allowed to use. The building has key card accesses for those students only. They can bring friends if supervised.

The darkroom is open 24 hours and so is the photoshop lab. As far as rules go, all students are responsible for our own actions and as freshmen, we signed a release that says we cannot hold the school responsible for anything.

We do have some common sense rules in the darkroom:

no sandals, only full-coverage shoes.
no smoking
no eating and drinking
everyone cleans up after themselves

that's about it.

And so I shall both thank everyone for their helpful comments and update you on where we are currently.

Much better, with the 'buddy system' having been greatly softened. After 10pm there must be someone in the building who knows you are working in the lab (there are three computer labs and a student lounge in the same building). Access has been pretty easy, with security letting folks in easily, after some initial hiccups. And students are getting into analog photography. I've several who seem to be finding something they will enjoy for a long time.

I really do appreciate all the responses I got, and to those who emailed me pdfs and etc. I can't thank you enough.
