On the contrary to the previous reply, I think it makes a lot of sense and sounds like a really great concept.
Has a more detailed project plan been written? Which line will be followed? Will each season be represented in each 'transect'? Some important considerations need to be adressed.
It's a good job that the prize money is quite substantial, I expect the project cost will mount up!
