Hello,
I'm writing a paper (something like essay) about "Beginning of photography in Czech", for Culture History of Middle Europe class at University and thought that you might help me since I've seen that here are quite a lot of members from Czech on RFF. I'd appreciate any info about the history of Czech photography especially if it concerns the beginning of it (links in (preferably) English or Russian, titles of the books, or even some scans from the books because I don't have much time and they probably won't be available locally). I have V. Birgus book "Czech Photographic Avant-Garde 1918-1948" but I think that it doesn't cover enough of the given theme.

Also, I was given the name - Jan Evangelista Purkyne. I heard that he invented some sort of photography even earlier thanDaguerre. Do you guys know anything about this? That was the original theme I was given, but I couldn't find any info.

You can write here or PM me and I'd give you my email or skype name. Thanks!

I ran into this guy when I was studying Goethe's theory of light a few years ago. Here's some background information. You might say that Purkyne laid the ground work for digital photography back in the time of Daguerre!

Interesting! I'm not the technical guy so maybe you could tell me which one of his theories has the most to do with this?

(I'm sorry for the late answer, I've been quite busy)
