Looking for some input from those that know...years ago a co-worker gave me an older camera along with an exposure meter...now that my son is in school studying film, he has developed an interest in photography and mentioned using a light meter..I dug out the one I was given and next time he's home from school, I'll see if he wants it...BUT in the mean time, I have no clue about it...Marked Bertram Chronos, all black..says "Made In Germany"..there's a manual with it. This must have been purchased through the base PX as there is also a bill of sale from "Japan Central Exchange..cost- a whopping $9.75. The date looks to be 1953..can that be correct? I have no clue....

Any input relative to this meter would be appreciated.

The first thing is to find where the sensor is and take her outside for a Sunny-16 check. It looks like a basic meter that can be worn like a wrist-watch. You might find a small screw somewhere to adjust it if you need to.

I have an extra light meter if your son would like to barrow it. PM me with your address and email and I will send it off.
