Help with Zorki 1c

Thanks guys. The camera is a beauty and definitely worth fixing. I borrowed a friend's IIIf once and it wasn't as smooth as this particular Zorki. The RF patch on the Zorki is really contrasty and VF is nice and bright. I found the IIIf quieter though.

Yuri at Fedka is pretty good when it . I bought things from him on three separate occasions. 1st a hood for my J3, 2nd a I-22 lens and now the Zorki-Zorki. I received each item in about a week. I ordered my J3 from Russia and it took forever. When it got to Canada, the idiots at customs sent it back to the seller because he wrote the return address in Russian Cyrillic so I got fed a double whammy resulting a 3 1/2 month wait.
 
Just an update... Yuri emailed me earlier today. It is repaired!!!! Yuri is going to ship it back to me on Tuesday as Monday is Martin Luther King day in the U.S. It looks like I'm getting the Zorki back much sooner than I anticipated. Hopefully I'll have better luck with it now.

Good timing too. I just received my Chinese Leitz ABLON clone and a "Zorki" cap for my I-22. It didn't feel right having a "Fed" cap on it. I've prepared a few rolls already with the ABLON-clone in anticipation. It works well with my retractable X-ACTO pen-knife. I also ordered a Luigi short-release for the Zorki and it should be arriving soon.

Good news, Nando! Thanks for the update. I know you're looking foward to getting it back in good shape. Yuri didn't mention the repairs done, did he? Just curious.

P.S. ~ BTW, It's President's Day, today... MLK Day was last month. Both are 3rd Monday of the month holidays. Yuri needs to turn the page on his calendar. Ha! 😉

Hey, ya had me goin' - I had to check a calendar. Just makin' grins. 🙂 I can't keep up with all the days the USPS takes off. 😎 In any case, it won't be long!
 
I received the Zorki this morning. It looks like everything is working now. The shutter seems much quieter too. Previously the shutter gave a solid thwack sound but now its much softer. I don't know if its my imagination or not. I can't wait to finish off the test roll. Hopefully there will be just pleasant surprises from here on in. 🙂
 
Good for you Nando ~ enjoy it. "...but now its much softer." That reads like the sound of a well-adjusted shutter. Glad it worked out.
