Some time early August, I bought a camera from a member who advertised through the classifieds. To date, it still has not arrived. We have communicated at first, and he apologized, explained, and promised to send it to my sibling in the US soon, but still no camera. In the past month or so, I have not received any response to my last 3 or 4 emails, including one that broached the option of a refund.
I've been trying to be understanding, but now I'm really upset. This was my first experience with paying through money order rather than paypal, and the most expensive camera I've ever bought (not much for you guys, but goes a long way in my country), so my options are really limited. Worse, my mom was the one who actually paid for it in the end as an early birthday present for me, and I don't know what to tell her when she keeps asking if I have received it yet (my birthday has since come and gone).
I don't want to think badly of anyone especially the people who have been here long and well respected, but I don't know what to do anymore. I've been burned by ebay before with bad cameras so I figured buying here would be better, but in ebay I've never had something not arrive at all.
Is there someone here who might be a friend of his? Or live near him?

Before naming names you should first contact customs to see if they are holding if for duty fees.

while we often disagreed about things i have faith that he is a man of integrity and can only wonder what might be wrong.
