Hey everybody,

I need your help.

I found a Leica M6 in perfect conditon... but when I tried it with my Summicron Collapsible the rangefinder seems to be misaligned.

Question: is it because of my lens? Or it is a camera problem? Is it expensive/easy to fix it? And if dont fix it, will it focus properly?

Many thanks.

Andre

It is an easy fix for a qualified tech. It's done during a standard CLA service(clean/lube/adjust). Out of curiosity how is the vf out of alignment?

Best regards,

Bob

To properly test it, make sure that you're using a lens that does focus properly...
If the VF is not aligned horizontally, it's a very easy & accessible fix (for the most part)... however, if it's vertical, it's a little more involved. Search the threads here on how to adjust horizontal alignment.

Thanks for your help.

My Summicron works fine with my M3... so I guess that it has no problem at all.

It is not aligned horizontally.

Anyone knows someone in NYC that can repair it in the same day? I can send the camera to a CLA when I get back to Argentina, but I would like to take some shots in NYC this weekend.

Thanks again.
