I would like to try the Hewes steel reels with 135 developing, but I wonder if they will fit with the tanks I already have.

Can anyone here tell me whether or not they will fit with Jobo or Paterson tanks?
I have one Jobo tank for 1x135 and one Paterson tank for 3x135 film.

My favorite is a stainless tank, the new type or the old type that had a fitted stainless lid, topped of with a Kindermann cover and cap. The stainless cleans easily, and the Kindermann seals great and pours fast.

Noooooo.... Hewes reels will fit in a plastic paterson tank and such, however the mechanisms are different. Plastic tanks built for plastic reels have a core spindle that diverts the light from the top funnel to the bottom of the tank which is a light 'dead-end' but lets liquids to flow thro. As the Hewes reels have no central spindle, if you drop them in the plastic tanks, they will get exposed when you open the lid to add or remove chemicals and water. By the way I use an Arista SS tank with SS lid from Freestyle.

Right, arunrajmohan, I forgot about the interior structure being part of the light seal system.

The answer then is a flat NO!

I have used the Arista tanks as well and they are good.

Just to add, Jobo has a stainless reel made by hewes that fits their unitanks, freestyle has them. Not cheap.

Aaah, I forgot the exception. Jobo does make steel reels for plastic tanks with a huge hole in the middle to accommodate the plastic spindle. Sometimes back I saw them and did not pick them up due to, as mentioned above, their price. Hope zerobuttons does not those reels.

I usually use Kindermann stainless steel tanks with the Hewes reels. I also have a Durst plastic tank that takes one 35mm Hewes or any other stainless steel reels. Plastic reels don't fit in this tank.

I´ve ended up ordering two 135 Hewes steel reels and two steel tanks from Calumet in UK - one single-reel tank and one double-reel tank.
Unfortunately, there is a three-week delivery time for the reels.....

Thank you again for all your input here.
