I just received a note from Dirk Roesler that my HRF arrived, in Japan, for repair. I'll report back as soon as it is returned. It went to Dirk because Greg Weber didn't have the parts to fix the malfunctioning shutter.

I have a Hexar RF too. Maybe soon also an AF. Still working perfectly, but you never know...
Please post if you are satisfied with the service and the shipping. I need a repair address too, in case of...

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I loaned one of my Hexar RF bodies to my son's girlfriend. She needed a film camera for her fine arts degree. She (now ex-girlfriend) returned it a few weeks ago after using it for three or four years. The camera had pretty heavy use for that time but held up pretty well. I won't list what needed to be repaired. I sent it off to Dirk and he returned it this week. The camera is now perfect! They did a great job. It's much nicer than when I bought it used ten years ago.

Regards,

Lou

Moments ago, my HRF was delivered- in perfect working order. Dirk Roesler (dirk@japanexposures.com) walked it through the process very efficiently and at reasonable cost. With postage, various fees and the repair itself, the cost was about $350. (The repair facility itself is called Konica Kenko, perhaps a partner with Sony.)

I'm happy to have gone ahead with the repair because this is a fine instrument. Provided I don't drop it again, it should perform nicely, as it did before, for many years.

I expect that the 35mm 'cron asph will now live on the HRF; it is a bear to use on the M7 0.85 while wearing eyeglasses.

Film loaded, ready to go.

The HRF has gorgeous 35 / 28 frame lines. Easy to shoot and focus a 35 f/2 or a 28 f/2 lens. Sold mine, for some reason. Ah well.
