Well I got the hexanon and am quite please so far. The lens has a wonderful feel to it. Seems very well made. Haven't been able to shoot a lot with it yet, but I was trying to test the bokeh a bit yesterday.

Edit - correcting myself (below). There is some info on the Hex 28 there - I think it must have been added after the original posting (not sure...). In any case, there is some info there.

I don't think the 28mm comparison review on Sean's website (which was done with an M8) included the Hex 28.

This is true. Sean tends to focus on the lenses that are still in production. (a notable exception being the canon 28 2.8)
I've always hoped that he might one day take a look at some of these excellent out-of-production lenses.

There is no mini tab on my black f/2.8 28mm Hexanon M, just the usual knurled affair. Same as on the f/2 50mm Hex. The silver is evidently a different construction.

The Hexanon build is absolutely beyond reproach.
So are, in my experience, the Zeiss offerings.
I own several CV lenses, and while I like them in general, the 28 is not my favorite, either in build quality, or in performance. The images look a little flat to me from that lens, especially compared to other favorites I own.
