Tirus, as someone here has already pointed out, the original hood for the 40mm is pretty hard to find. I suggest you get the Konica all-metal rectangular clip-on hood for the 35mm Hexanons. It seems to me the focal length is close enough so you need not fear vignetting (haven't checked that personally though). The thing shows up on Ebay regularly, is not very expensive (got mine 6 months ago for $15) and comes with a nice leather case. If you decide to get one, make sure it's not the hood for the 24 and 28mm Hexanons. The two hoods are almost identical, with the 35mm one being a bit deeper. The thing looks darn sharp too
