Hello everybody - new member here! I've decided to spend my stimuli check on a much overdue upgrade to my Yashica, and I have been offered a set with the Hexar RF and a 50mm f2 lens (M-Hexon, I think). It comes with a little flash thingy as well, and in a nice box. Does $1100 sound decent enough? The seller is local here in DesMoines, so that is a big plus for me. I'm not about to go on Ebay at the age of 61!

very much so! do check if all the functions are working properly and the actual condition of the camera / lens as well.

The cameras go for up to $800.00 for a nice one and the lenses for around $450.00 so that's an ok deal in my book!

We have quite a little band of Hexar fans here on RFF so jump in ... the water's fine! 😛

Thank you, both of you. Yes, I think I will jump! The Yashica is nice enough, but I've always wanted to try Leica, I guess this is as close as I will get (at least on my budget!)

In a lot of people's opinions the Hexar RF is the camera that Leica should have made so no need to feel short changed. 😛

Check this write up on Dante Stella's site! 🙂

@keith - why should the leica fanboys have all the fun?! hexar snobs to the fore! ; )

@desmoines - welcome to the hexar world. even if the body is not to your liking, the hexanon 50 is a keeper. and a bargain too.
