Hexar af not sharp..

Now, I use infinite focus on the street to take sharp photos?

If the street is that far off, yes - sharpness at infinity is somewhere upward of 15m. You'd better test on a landscape subject.

In case you haven't understood: Trying it on infinity is merely a test, to check whether the AF system has failed or the lens is damaged. It will not fix the camera - even if the AF is dead and the lens still good, you will want to repair it, unless you intend to restrict yourself to landscapes with no foreground only.

How can I check that at infinity?

or just point the camera at something far away and shoot.
You'd also check the focus marker in the finder (that little triangle in the upper right corner) when focusing at something close (around 1m) if it's not traveling far you are out of focus .. just move the focus spot around on your target and try again!

Looks back focused with camera movement.

Are you centering the viewfinder, then pushing shutter release half way down to lock focus, then pushing down to take the shot?

Your shutter release switch probably needs to be replaced. When they wear out, it loses the focus lock and refocuses between the half press (when it looks like it has locked) and full press. You'll see it in off-center subjects.

It screams this problem. The good news, it is an easy fix.

japan camera hunter can handle service at Konica for you. He did that with my Silver Hexar and it came back in almost like new fashion.

The shutter button fix is a DIY job if you pay only a little attention.

I did dozens of them myself when I sold Hexars on eBay. Mine were always shutter button-serviced before I put them up for sale.

Google Hexar shutter button repair and you should be able to find a pictorial showing how to do it.

Good luck!
