Looking to buy myself a Hexar AF but currently without the adequate spare cash, so please do a GAS sufferer a favour and show me what I'm missing by sharing your pics taken with this cult classic.
Whatever the film, whatever the subject I'd love to see 'em.

Simon, have you scrolled through http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=82856 (Post your photos taken w/the Hexar AF)? Nonetheless, I'm happy to think of this as emphasis rather than redundancy, and re-emphasize a few. ;-)

Hexar AF:
Mine had a triangular cutout on right side of film gate. I wonder if they all did?
afaik, yes
kind of cool printing these image with a signature by the camera...
its a fantastic camera.
If only someone would find a definitive solution to the lazy shutter problem

...and after shipping my first Hexar to Adnan (f1sunshine) in Seattle, I bought another within months from Brian Legge in Seattle. Every "I sold my Hexar AF" story I've read on RFF ends with "...and I regret it" or "...and I bought another and won't make that mistake again."

I remember that shot as your avatar Frank and possibly from the gallery too. I haven't noticed anything similar to your cutout from the shots I've looked at recently but they may have been cropped down a little.

I recognize this from my trawl through Flickr, specifically the Hexar AF group....so it's partly your fault that I'm suffering from some Hexar GAS

Robert, apologies for the unnecessary thread. I've searched RFF for Hexar info but found it seemingly split between the point and shoot section and fixed rf. Hopefully the love for this camera will mean a renewed homage is enjoyed by all. Though I'll certainly have a good look at the link you've provided.
Beautiful light captured in your photograph above, at the top shutter speed too...something that may have me using slow and fast films rather than my more usual mid speed films.

Richard - thanks for the link, it's just been bookmarked as it's a wealth of info for someone like me still looking to get one.

Thanks Kuvvy, I know it wasn't a Hexar shot but I love the 'spider in the sky' pic. I'll sit and have a good look through later tonight.

From what I've been reading so far Michael the answer, if you're brave and skilled enough, is some DIY internal cleaning which is a concern with my skill level. Though it appears, again only from what I've recently read, that the issue can affect pretty much any version at any time so (perhaps perversely) not enough of a reason for me not to get one.
I've come across a number of good guides on the net for this, including one from one of our own which is still on RFF somewhere

really liking this camera, max shutter speed of 1/250 is not that big of a deal to me since I like to shoot it at f/8 or f/11 most of the time.
best thing for sure is how this camera focuses in the dark so easily.

The 1/250th shutter may be more of an issue for me as I do like to be able to open a lens up if I feel the shot requires it, some slow film and maybe a ND filter or two may be necessary for me...but I'll happily live with that
I just had a look at your website Earl, very nice.

Thanks Simon, means a lot coming from you, love your portfolio!
It is fairly easy to change mid-rolls on the Hexar AF, you'll hear a click then have about 2 seconds to open the back before it fully winds the roll.
Had to change rolls a couple of times when I had only Gold 200 and Delta 400@1600 with me.
ND filter is another easy way for sure

I had one for two years and sold it to buy my first Leica, an M2. I haven't really missed the M2 since I sold it but I've missed the Hexar just about every day.
