Hello my fellow shooters,

I've been using my RF for about a month now and I'm on the brink to suicide.. I already scanned through the manual and through the forum but couldnt find anything that fits my problem.. Well, here's what happened:

I loaded a roll which already had 26 exp. on it, so I switched to C(ontinous) and just fired away at f/16 1/4000 with the lenscap attached to forward the film to the right position.. when the counter on top showed 10 she stopped and started flashing the "10".. she wouldnt rewind the film using the R pin-key, and wouldnt shoot or do anything.. I went to a dark place to get the film out and now theres still just nothing.. already took the batteries out and waited for like an hour for the electronic to unload itself and put it back in and here we are again: a 10 flashing and a camera that won't respond to anything.. Can't load new film or anything, can't release the shutter etc etc etc... Somebody, help..? Ideas???

Take care and thanks for reading,
felix

Dante Stella had a suggestion on this, but it looks like the final result was not good:

"10" (F_Err_Sc) is a shutter charge error, subtitled "standby misoperation."

I vaguely remember that someone on the Leica User Group fixed something like this once by turning off the camera, turning it on in B while holding down the shutter release. There is a way to cycle the shutter to reset this stuff, but it's not in the service manual. In the meantime, I am going to read through and see if there is a master reset sequence.

Call Konica on Monday and ask tell them what you are seeing. If you talk to Mr. Brigham, he might be able to walk you through it.

Well the results are in: broken "detector plate". Total cost of repair $170. Plus I got hit with taxes for bringing it in person. Oh and thanks for all of your help guys. leonid

I had a flashing 11 and had to send my RF to Sony in Tokyo. Cost $200. I'd like to know if you find any other service options. Please let us know the outcome.

Thanks a lot for the quick info... I borrowed the camera from university and most likely it'll get sent in.. Luckily, there are still like 5 RFs in the closet there that nobody wants to use.. darn digital fools ;-) I'll let you know what it cost and what the Servicepeople will diagnose or repair !
