Anyone with experience using Nikon SB-28 flash units on the Hexar RF? My research indicates that the trigger voltage for the SB-28 should be sufficiently low not to fry the electronics in the HRF but I'm hoping to get confirmation from someone who has direct experience using the two together.

TIA

Not exactly an SB-28, but..

I've used an Hexar-RF with a Metz that had a 3401 (i.e. to Nikon) adapter, which basically turns it into an SB-23. Not only does it sync correctly, it also picks up the flash ready signal. It's the tiny small contact just south-west of the larger sync contact. Same location, same signal..

The only restriction is that the flash doesn't trigger when it's in TTL mode.

It takes a lot to kill a Hexar (an early 283 didn't fry mine...). Any modern Nikon flash should work fine. I have used the SB-28DX with the Hexar, as well as the SB-20 and the SB-800.
