Austraila 2 Croatia 2

As Rolf Harris says "Altogether now!" ...Waltzing Matilda, Waltzing Matilda who'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me......

YAY. Up at 5 am to watch the match with my inlaws, who are Croation-born Aussies. They did very well supporting the old and new country! And they cooked me breakfast - I'm way too thin for a son-in-law 😉

Good on yer Ozzies! I'm really glad you got through to the knock-out stage. One of the more interesting things about that match was that 3 blokes on the Croatian team were born in Australia, and 7 on the Australian team had a Croatian background.

I watched the Brazil - Japan game tonight and Brazil played quite well with some good movement. And Ronlardo scored two goals the second of which was excellent. Looks like they're warming up...

So how many Brazilian bars does Bremen have? One? Two?

........... Nothing would surprise me more, and please me infinitely (and a few others, trust me), than Mexico really undoing Argentina, but I'm a realist. ..........Brasil, Argentina and Italy, on the other hand, oh, meu deus, e mama mia! Ruben has the pulse on that one.

And my Argentinian pulse tells me it will only be a great honour to be defeated by the land of Francisco Villa and Emiliano Zapata !

Brazil 4 - Japan 1: Brazilian team launches severe warning

OK folks, none of you have posted anything about this match and I understand you. We are all still in shock. Rather panic. But I am going nevertheless to try my luck.
We have had two previous games where the Brazilians didn't performed as expected and the last one in which they overperformed any expectation. What does it means ? A lot in fact.

The Brazilians didn't come to Germany to win another cup. After winning 5 times the world cup they have no more interest in it. They have no doubt who will remain forever as the best national team at football world championship games. What do they came for ? To pay honour to their historic scorer Ronaldo, making him to break world record of single scoring player, at world cups ever.

Ronaldo and Ronaldinho.
If we exclude history, we are looking at a renewed version of Beauty and Beast. Ronaldo is heavy mooving and slow too. His reflexes do not respond any more at the supreme high level of the past. In the context of winning another cup he is a liability.

Look on the other hand at Ronaldinho. What a show, what a player, what a man. Never making any kind of foul. Always quick enough to jump over the malicious legs sent to tackle him, and still dominating the ball at the same time. This is not football but ballet. But all this is just the start, the raw material upon which Ronaldinho shows his manhood. What a humble man ! Instead of crowning himself he is just happy to fill the Brazilian National Task about Ronaldo. Always smiling, always supporting, always helping his idol although he IS the real idol there. If you saw the first two games you noticed the Brazilian team didn't pay much attention to Ronaldinho, or at least propper attention. No matter, he helped to the extent they allowed him, miles away of his real capability.

So what made the transformation of the Brazilian team into what they have became AFTER their slaughter of Japan? Nothing very special but a Japanese small mistake, scoring the first goal at the match.

One thing is not winning another boring sixth cup. But another thing is to stand in their way to make Ronaldo break the record. Any team to stand in their way will have to stand several weapons too, like the Juninho cruise missile, just for example, without mentioning all the defense players seating as fillers but capable to score, on one extreme. Nor mentinoning what Ronaldinho can really do, if severily irritated, on the other extreme. And all what lays in between.

Surviving teams of the world beware, the Brazilians have launched their warning.

Ronaldinho is a brilliant player with fantastic ball handling skills, but also a very unselfish one who is constantly working to set up other team members with scoring opportunities. And he is always smiling and having a good time. Ronaldinho is easily the most charismatic player in the world today - it's no wonder that so many people love him.

Oh, mon dieu! Estoy en un dilema. France vs. España. 😱

Rover, I now understand your "conflict in your heart" :bang:

But no conflicts in the México vs. We'rebetterthananybody match...
