But the way we played even with one player less (twice) was really nerverecking for the Dutch and the referee alike.
The president of FIFA just told a tv reporter that the referee got a "yellow card" aswell.

Oh man, he should have a red card for let the portuguese play the time away. Oh what a pityfull team, can they even walk without falling down? Well, England will finish them off, I hope.

Just for a little balance, Figo should have been red carded for the (little) head butt, no? :)

It really is interesting how our biases affect what we percieve. Like the other day at my son's Lacrosse game, a parent from the other team...

I'm by no means a rabid England supporter *but* this is the first world cup where I haven't had my heart in my mouth for most of the matches. So far England have progressed without really showing their hand. If our first choice players really start firing on all cylinders then maybe it's time to dream ( or lose to Germany on penalties. Again)

Btw, to which team did you lose 4-2 in your homefield just before 2004 games? Haha!

Well with about 12 hours to go before Australia plays Italy I am praying for a ref that:

1) Doesn't feel the motherly urge to over protect Australia's opponents from our supposedly evil "physical game" AND will penalise divers and time wasters.
2) Knows that hand balls aren't allowed...
3) Can count to two!!!

After the absolute crap run of refs we have had hopefully the big SEP in the sky can ensure that we get at least one decent ref.

Both the dutch and the portuguese played disgusting. If the game was a bit longer, the two keepers would have remained the only two on the field. Quite a shame, to have such a "record", four red cards in one game.
It reminds me of why i don't like football.

Anyway, the dutch deserved to be out (sorry orange guys), and the portuguese deserve to start with a disadvantage.
