This is appalling "play" by the Brazilians. I've watched a lot of football in my time, and I've not seen such fakery and such a lenient job of refereeing in a long time! Really, nearly every time a Brazilian player is challenged he falls as if he's just taken an axe to the head. C'mon, this kind of behavior is not only cheating, it gives a very bad name to a beautiful game to a lot of Americans who don't see this very often.

That is a surprise. But congratulations to France and Zidane was immense. I will take Italy over Germany and France marginally over Portugal on these showings. Two exciting games today and I can't wait for Tuesday!

And, the Tour DAY France (to use a Bob Rollism) started today. Awesome! I am in heaven; Thor Hushovd just took the Prologue today...

But maybe we have been looking different world cups ;)
 
Sorry for Brasil, but what a victory of France! What a pleasure to see these oldies awakening to life as if they were just starting their careers. What a source of optimism !

No MacAuley this si not what i meant, i meant if Portugal changed their style a bit, they could have done it, but the actual course of the game was different, not that England were interesting, but they were certainly creating better chances...But i can't handle France Germany and England in a semi final! :D

France deserved their win, Zidane played very well, and i'm startign to like ribery.

And I think this is exactly what will happen. To lose this match would not hurt THAT much, I mean it's all among friendly neigbours then.;)
They have cut Brazil down to it's real size with the help of Zidanes genius, and tho we have unfortunately no Zidane that is exactly what we will do with Italia too. Somehow I feel it, the time has come !:D :D

Argentinas exit btw was one of the worst things I've ever seen in a WC match. When the match was over one ot them came running across the field and hit Schweinsteiger on the head, fom behind, while he was receiving congrats standing in a group of Germans, and another one kicked Mertesheimer where it hurts most for a man, still the football shoes on !

Thank god Schweinsteiger was kinda thunderstruck and did not react immediately,so they both could get separated before he made this nerds teeth play piano in his a... ! I saw that all but could not believe it !!:mad:

I never thought I'd say this but it looks like I'll be rooting for Germany from now on.

There are no other teams left in the tournament who have not dived and cheated their way through.

England are out, but we went out with pride and without cheating. Something which sadly I cannot say for C Ronaldo and his team mates.

I have friends and family in both countries, so choosing sides will be impossible!!:rolleyes:
