My crystall ball is un-fogging...
My crystall ball is un-fogging...
Final game: Portugal vs. Italy
My favourite : GO Portugal !
But, let the best team win. And I agree with AKALAI about that referee-gift-penalyt-shot for Italy against Australia.
Why Portugal ?
Best player: C. Ronaldo
Best coach: Scolari
Best individual players, after bad day when Brasil was eliminated by inspired France.
Brazilians speak Portuguese.
p.s.: Just do not tell me C. Ronaldo simulated to be fouled. After disgusting (deliberated) attack on his legs and crotch by Netherland's players, he has all the right to be apprehensive
And Figo got kicked in his head (cheek), in some other game - there was blood to be seen on his battered face, and I was sincerely afraid for his life then

I am sorry that you should feel this way. Germany is going to win the world cup. It is already history.
If you believe otherwise you are obviously not receptive to the chi which has been flowing for months now.
Tune in tomorrow.

Hey, I would rather believe to my crystall ball, there is still some haze inside, but it was probably made by Leitz after all
I have to admit Germany plays forcefully, has admirable team&fighting spirit, but there is something missing. Yes, and the word/term for that something is "sambalikeness"

Great link Volker!
I guess that was originally a Guardian ad. Got to love the Grauniad! I read an interesting article at the Beeb this morning on the Brazil team. One additional thing: watching the reaction of the Brazil staff and players they were totally unprepared for being eliminated, I've never seen a squad in such shock. I wonder what Nike will make of this? No more samba ads for a couple of years?

I am receptive to the chi that flew off Florence on 1st March 2006
But of course it was all dives and play acting from Italy

It's getting worse. The cheating now begins BEFORE they play !
Tho THE photo says nothing and none the referees did see anything of a fight and even Cruz says he wasn't hit (!!) Frings is suspended for the match tomorrow.
I wonder how expensive it was for the national Italian football association to get this decision from the FIFA.
This is a new scandalous example of the Italian system of "Corriger la Fortune", simply disgusting.
Isn't SKY-TV owned byBerlusconi ? Some honourable gentlemen of the M.-Company must be involved with big bets. So what, after the WC they will all land in jail anyway, the public prosecutors await them yet because of the national bet scandal, as it is reported. Maybe this is what makes them so nervous and act so silly?

I believe Sky is owned by Rupert Murdoch. Berlusconi is probably an ideological soulmate, and a franchisee perhaps...

As a german from Bremen, where Frings plays, I wouldn't call that nothing.

Of course, FIGC (Italian football federation) owns FIFA, UEFA and all the referees, Berlusconi owns SKY and I own Mercedes and BMW.
And if something bad occurs to your favourite tem, it is never their fault, it's the Italians, I mean it is nice to be able to blame someone else isn't it.

Harald Shumacher would suit us just fine, Italy dived three times past him in the 1982 World Cup final, I am prepared to settle for the same tomorrow.

We seem to have a lot of selective memory here. Diving is not new, why one of the greatest ever practitioners of the art is now the coach of Germany! Who can forget his classic swan job after scoring his first goal for Spurs?
Lets look forward to the two great games coming up!

No no, you have it all wrong, as you can clearly see from this thread, the Italians dive and cheat, the others just use creative footballing techniques.

Ha, well then I guess my theoretical LNIB Harald Shumacher 2.0 would have even more fire in his belly... and he had plenty of fire in 1982! Shumacher vs. Grosso... bring it on!

Indeed, fine example of player you have chosen, is that the aussie ideal of sportmanship?
Why I am not surprised?

True, but Peter, when Francesco isn't being a martyr for Italian football he enjoys flogging the dead horse that is "diving"... without this what would he talk about???
And in relation to Klinsmann the only thing I remember of his playing days (I was pretty young at the time) are of him being knocked out by Mark Bosnich... who no doubt was wearing a "NO DIVERS!" jersey at the time...

Ohhh Francesco... you spin me right round baby, right round like a record.... do you work in PR???
Your abilitity to leap from one wild extrapolation to another in a single sentence is super human but please, you're not really lecturing on what is or isn't "sportsmanship" are you??? Let alone what Australian ideals of sportsmanship are... unfortunately I doubt you would understand them even if you dived over them.
Besides haven't you got more important things to be worrying about like the obvious international conspiracy against Italian football???
