You joined the club a long time ago. Nice new camera! I'm sure it won;t be your last! That's the club...

And I still want a Canon P. I am up to a Canon IIf, Vt, and 3 Canon 7 's. I may sell the last one off, but it is smooth and I fixed the meter myself. If I do, the money will go for a Canon P.

That M4-P is nice. Goes nice with an M3. So does an M2. You need one of those. Consider it Club Dues.

I actually was watching a canon 7 with 50 1.2 on the auction site, but I also bought a Voigtlander 28mm Ultron and needed the framelines. I do have 2 Leica bodies, the sad thing is the M4-P has brought to my attention that the RF in the M3 may have succumb to balsam glue separation, it far less bright than the M4 and yellowing.

The finder is off a Yashica GSN aux. kit, I put it on because the lens that is on it is made for the M3 so it only brings up the 50mm framelines.

It looked familiar, I have the same one that I use for my jupiter 12! Too bad everything looks a bit dim when looking through it, then again a Leica brightlines would cost me about 15x more...

Yes I will need to send the M3 off for rest, relaxation, and re-cementing 😉

With the money I have wrapped up in Leica equipment, i had better not try a canon p then.

Hi Todd, very nice M4-P, but a note of caution: the Summaron 35 version for the M3 must be scale focused on the M2 & M4 thru M7 unless used with the "eyes". Otherwise the focus will off at any distance other than infinity. This is bothersome but not the end of the world as the lens can be scale focused easily, and the f3.5 widest aperture gives you plenty of leaway.

To verify this just set the lens for 1 meter and then look thru the rangefinder at a coke can 1 meter from the camera and it will be very obvious. With the eyes everything works properly, the 50mm framelines are minified and the field of view is that of the 35.

Paul, I learned that the hard way on my M3 shooting without the goggles. I just put it on the camera for picture taking sake 🙂
