Just thought I would pop in and say "Hello" to you all here.

I joined today and have been reading feverishly as I just purchased a Bessa R3A and 40mm Nokton.

I've used various rangefinders in the past - still have a Canon QL-17 G-III and Olympus XA - including Contax G2 and Leica M6. I never found them "sufficient" as my "main" camera (for wedding or portraiture) but I'm willing to give it another go with this "reasonably priced" M-mount Voigtlander.

Hopefully I can just sit back and read the threads and not ask any stupid questions of you folk 🙂

Cheers
Dave

Welcome, Dave. Don't worry about stupid questions - that's my role here, anyway. Share some photos and wade right in to the forum exchanges. It's a great site!

Yes, no shyness. You'll be suffering from GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) with the rest of us soon enough. I know I'm suffering. Look at my signature. 😛

Watchout for the GAS! You have been warned! 😉 I was struck by it today, it hurt me by A$105 bucks.. It got itself a Zeiss Ikon Ikonta with a roll of film in it and a nice leather case..

ahhhh.. sorry.. already am a repeat offender when it comes to that 😀
I rarely drop the stuff I own into my sig for the mere fact that I do have "more than enough" of it and it sort of embarrasses me to say so 🙂

The Bessa R3A and Nokton was an "impulse" buy of sorts - the only thing stopping me from the Leica-M body buy was, of course, the price 😉

Cheers

Look at my sig, it's a great way to eliminate the guilty conscience arising from GAS.

hehe.. maybe I'll adjust my sig at some point 🙂

I think I've already got WAY too much gear - this "rangefinder thing" is just going to make me want to get more !!! 😀

Cheers
Dave
