Hi just spotted an m7 + 35 !.4 Summilux, Mint for £850

Perhaps.

Maybe in light of the credit crunch or some other serious buisness he/she needs the cash. That is a bargain though right? Surely it should be double..

Note I have no intention of buying this. I just thought it might be of use to someone. Though if someone stole '.....' of mine the first place I'd look would be auction sites and places like Gumtree.. Wouldn't you?

To his street at least, and also he has the warranty card. I would want to see it in the metal if I was interested, but it seems ok from what I can see.

If only it was an MP etc etc

Too cheap... I woudn't be a surprise if you ask for information and they say the cam is outside and you to buy by escrow

I found a 6bit-coded Noctilux for 800 EUR in some small ads here in Germany two weeks ago. "Sandra" from London replied to my inquiry and wanted to "close the deal" whenever I like without any shipping costs. I asked if my wifes cousin could collect it in person, since she lives in London - never got a reply anymore.
There have been so many scams in the recent few months which often lead to the UK. Leica cameras and lenses are ideal - people want them and pay well for them. People who cannot afford them are willing to spend all they got, once a really cheap offer comes up, believing the one selling it is somehow completly retarded to sell it at that small price.
I just wonder how many have fallen for these scams yet. Since they still turn up anywhere online and offline it must be quite a lucrative business model.

Confirmed scam......Well, it most certainly was one of those scams. I had believed so from the start, but didn't want to state so publicly here while I was in contact with "Anna" in case they were monitoring this forum.

I emailed "her" Saturday night and again Monday night, explaining that a family member was in the U.K. for another week on business with some free time and he volunteered to swing by and have a look at the M7 kit and if it was in good shape he could pay her this week and take it home with him, thus saving us both the bother and expense of international shipping. I never heard back from her.

George, sorry you had no luck with the M7. I just thought that I should point out it's existance, and leave judgement to anyone interested.

Good luck in finding a well priced legit one by the way.

All the best, Benjamin

I've used this little "trick" a few times and it has proven very handy. Any mention of a face-to-face exchange and you never hear from them again.

Thank you for the kind regards, Benjamin. I'm not even certain that I "need" an M7, a LN virtually unused M6 classic just followed me home that I'm really loving using it.

BTW- I do have someone very close to the family that DOES regularly travel on business to the UK and Europe, just not this week! 😉 I probably would have choked if they answered my email saying "Sure, have him come right over, here's my address"!
