HOW COME WHEN I GOOGLE MY NEW FOUND BARGAIN FIND I CAN SEE NO REFERENCE ANYWHERE TO THE HI-MATIC 5? 7's 9's but no 5's

it depends - how did you search?
I searched for "hi-matic 5" and got enough hits to get idea of what it is.
Probably 7 and 9 are more praised because they have rangefinders? Anyway it's not hard to scale focus 40/2.7 lens. I have similar Yashica and Konica cameras, I guess this Hi-Matic is on par with them.
