Hi all,

I just won the Yashica Electro 35 GS bid from ebay and waiting for its arrival.

However, the bid doesn't include the battery. I googled some and find out the battery seems hard to find nowadays. There are some adapter for sale which can be replaced the original type of battery. Do anyone suggest me which is the reliable one I can choice? Any side effect if I use 6V battery rather than 5.6V that mentions in manual?

Thank you very much :)

The Yashica GSN/GTN series are very forgiving cameras. Believe it or not, I actually placed a 3V battery in it with some aluminum foil and the camera still operated correctly, but the diods were a little dim. Here are a couple of pics showing one of the batterys and adapters I use, all homemade. I hope the pics come out cause I've been having some problems downloading some of them previously. The adapters are made from rubber washers for spacers, two long shank rivets and one rivet pin cut and inserted to hold the whole thing together. Superglue holds the spacers and the rivet in place. Since the whole shebang is aluminum, conduction is great. A 28L or 544A battery works just fine.
