hi i am new noobie here, and need some advice on where to get a minolta autocord. by the way, is a yashica mat 124g comparable to an autocord? please kindly advice...thanks!!!

Ebay would be a good start...
There are many discussions going on in here on that subject just do a "Search" for it...
I have a 124g and love the results from it but I've heard that others like the Autocord for it's build quality and lens capabilities...take a look over at Flicker and compare for yourself...
The 124g I picked up about 10 years ago was in near mint condition and the lens looks untouched so maybe that's the difference in why I like the results from it...
You have to remember these are old cameras and unless they were well cared for the glass may not render what you see in website galleries...
Like I always say...Do your Homework on any equipment you're thinking of buying...

Welcome to the forums. I can't really help you with your question. I never owned a Rolleicord and it has been over 30 years since I had a Yashica MAT 124G. I did like the Yashica very much when I had it.

The differences are: A.) The Minolta has a bit better build quality and feels smoother in operation. B.) The film feeds down of the top of the camera in a straight line. Yashicas and Rolleis feed up from the bottom so the film makes a right angle bend before it gets behind the lens. If the camera just sits around like that for a day or two that frame won't quite lay flat when you go gto use it. C.) The focusing lever under the lens panel, unlike a knob on the side, can be used with either hand. A bit of practice and you can focus and hold the camera with one hand. On the downside the tab often breaks off.
The Minolta lens has more of a "classic look", a smoother rendering, and is one of the sharpest lenses ever put on a TLR.

ThX!!! I also did some read up myself and most of the comments were saying that an autocord is slightly better than the 124g. guess i will continue my search for an autocord. thanks a lot for the advices...

greetings mike, about all you need to know is already posted, you will feel a lot better post purchase if you track down an autocord, they are an exelllent TLR.
The focus knob breaking off is an often mentioned weak point, personally i cannot see how anyone can acheive this other than careless handling or a freak drop, make that a `freaking drop'.
Yep, ebay your best bet, but dont rush in on the first one you see, you should be able to get past auction prices easily enough- try for one still with case, but dont to worried if the stitching has decayed, easy fix and normal at this age. good luck

Two other bits of advice: 1) Never drive by a church rummage sale, yard sale, or even a pawn shop without checking out what they have and 2) be familiar with what other brands and types of old cameras are worth.
You might not find that Autocord at the church rummage sale but you might run into an older Leica or Nikon or Rolleiflex, or a quality lens, or even some older lenshoods. Have you checked current auction prices on old Rollie and Leica lenshoods and lenscaps? Leica cassettes? Many things that went unsold at a buck or two just a few years ago now bring as much as $50, $75, or even more on auction, but they're still a buck or two at a yard sale.

I had a yashica, and now an autocord , I prefer the autocord, better built, better optic , and nicer feeling 🙂
anyway, the yashica is quite a good camera 🙂
and as told up there, the focusing lever is fantastic, compared to the knob 🙂
On the other hand, my autocord has no fresnel screen, so I had to buy it for 30$ to rick oleson.
If I had to choose between yashica and minolta, I would choose the minolta 😉
