Wouldn't a real one in this condition at least be in the ~$10,000 range?
Still way too cheap to be real...

The best camera is one that still works!
From a Japanese seller with over two and a half thousand transactions and 100% positive feedback rating!

It is beautiful, looks like new, is it new?

If fake, it is probably worth the asking price!

*Appearance of the item* Relatively beautiful.
Thank you. That was a good chuckle.
I also like that they removed screws to unthread the helicoid to show the inside of the camera, rather than...unscrewing the lens.

About as bad as the joker who had a Minolta 16II listed for $999.00 as a BIN. I thought about telling him that if he moved the decimal two places to the left that would be about right for a BIN.

Run a Completed Items search for "X1 Olympischen" and you'll see this isn't the seller's first attempt to offload.
Eventually a price will find its greater fool.

But....it's unique! How many Leicas have a threaded shutter release?

had a look simply out of interest as I see these warnings often.
I managed to read this
'Country/Region of Manufacture: Japan'
Surely anyone thinking of buying this would be well aware that it is a fake - anyone not aware would be guilty of failing in - 'due diligence'
His other listings seem quite genuine, listing descriptions of cameras that are not fully working, lens with fungus etc, etc.with prices to match.
In other words, nothing to see here.

I have several of these which I have modified to get rid of some of the markings .
£60 each .
They were from Moscow Photo some years ago - amazingly , considering they are bitsas they work exquisitely .

I was under the impression that a real Leica Berlin Olympics edition LTM body existed...after a round of Googling i'm not quite so sure anymore.
Did Leica ever make a commemorative body for the 1936 Olympics?

I don't think Leitz ever put the German eagle engraving on a Leica. And that two-tone black & chrome color scheme? And the red engraving? And the threaded hole? Maybe eBay should be notified.

Yes, they made the Leica R4 Jesse Owens 1936-1986 Olympic.

ebay doesn't care. they only care about making the sale, and if there is a problem after that they will deal with it.
I've reported plenty of bogus items and they've done nothing. But mention that the seller has provided contact info/the ability to make the sale outside ebay then they will immediately shut it down.
