Maybe that's why it's there? That and "Country of Origin: Japan" and so forth. It's entertainment value, that's all.

I know that someone is gonna laugh at this ... but they are actually beautifully made !

It looks like a chrismas tree!!!
It screams "i´m a fake"
Paint style, poor engraving quality, tacky emblems and decorations, Industar aperture ring etc...
The lens is realeased by the focusing helicoid!!!!

All those dumb individuals attempting to make some money off something wearing a svastika and any other nazi symbol should be put in a time machine capsule and sent for a winter 1944 holiday time in Auschwitz.
Then they would discover that the rarest of the rare is a genuine return ticket, not a faked Leica.

And there is always the original Zorki s/n on the back...
Frankly, it's not difficult to detect this fake...

IMO it's still an interesting piece of history. I don't see why a Berlin 1936 piece would be different than any other Leica limited edition body.
One can appreciate the value of a collectible camera without endorsing the period and political regime in which it was made. That said, I would feel sad if one was actually acquired by a neo-Nazi.

This camera reminds me of the movie "The Producers"

Another thing that give these away as fakes immediately is the fact that it would be "XI. Olympische Spiele" in German (without the n's).

Wouldn't a real one in this condition at least be in the ~$10,000 range?
Still way too cheap to be real...

You're right Roger, I remember when I was buying some photo gear in Tokyo and wanted to trade my jupiter 12, reply was polite but very strict. They didn't deem this article worth keeping in the shop, they were not interested. On the other hand I wonder how many zorkis I are still out there without ww2 engraving. Soon price of nice zorki I with original engravings will match that of leica.

This time, no heads-up «RUSSIAN»; this time, it's an attempt to defraud, I'd suggest.

I don't think Leitz ever put the German eagle engraving on a Leica.
Indeed they didn't. Any eagles (if any) and other military markings were put on by the respective military branches of service they were delivered to.
