His film work is such a validation for me. It's utterly beautiful, and yet I managed to catch a few that are pretty similar (i.e., the best of mine might be allowed to buy a drink for the least of his) at the one and only wedding I ever shot.

...or it was entirely 1) beginner's luck, and 2) the M6/Summilux combo that was borrowed and that I'll never have in my hands again. 😀 Either way, I'm a happy feller.

I like his photos, but his scans look like mine, in that none of them are really sharp. I suspect the prints are much better in this regard.

May partly be owing to high ASA film he uses.

Some of the images in the article are actually scans from darkroom prints from a regular flatbed, so they are not the best. It is all about the print, always.

can you comment on the framelines in the titanium M9?

I am going to be honest with you. While I have an excellent relationship with the folks at Leica, I had the impression that the framelines in the M9TI were just some marketing fluff. I had the opportunity of shooting one this weekend in both daylight and nighttime and actually felt the red color provided a very nice aid to better see the boundaries without even have to look at them (i.e. I could notice them really well just on my peripheral vision).

Wow, the fact that you spend most of your time shooting and marketing shows in the fact that you graciously answered every question.🙂 Most of us would not take that much effort.

Please note that your success and approach has inspired a lot of us. In particular, I have been working on a business plan for the last two years while taking care of my wife full-time. Needless to say, we have been devastated.

We have now reached a point where I am actually beginning to implement parts of the plan and your advice is an inspiration for me as well. In fact, this business venture is the only solution to our family in an effort to get back on our feet. So thank you for all your hard work and kindness to us all.🙂

Thank you... I've been able to inspire plenty of my peers to get a rangefinder and shoot all manual or even dust off old AE-1s... The one thing they don't forgive me is for showing them how wonderful but expensive Leica ownership can be
