I'm trying to convince myself I don't need either of the above because I spend so much of my photographic fun time around at least 1600 iso and f2.8. Would anyone like to post some colour samples to convince me otherwise? Having read less than glowing reviews about the high ISO performance I'm unable to find many examples...

Thanks

Forgot to mention this camera takes the best b&w images I have ever seen.. Outside of the Leica monochrom.

No need for convincing: it's a fact. You would do better with a different camera.

Not that it can't be done, not that the results would not satisfy, but really, if high ISO is really important, get something else.

That was my dilemma too: DP2 (for gorgeous foveon color) vs x100s (for speed and ease of use.) So far I'm sticking with what I have, cause it makes the deciding easier.

If you use black and white 1600 is good and occasionally it even surprises me in colour. Forget 3200 or 6400 ... they may as well have not bothered! :D

I totally agree i´d love to put the MM and this merrills into a match...

...don´t waste your time using 1600 iso in colour...but in B/W it´s more than ok...

I'm glad someone didn't try to BS this buy into buying the DP. For color, I can't rely on anything over 400.

DPM owners never bullsh!t ... that's the territory of the 'other' brands! :D

I like my DP2M a lot, but for high ISO, you could do better, much, much better.
It's a great camera, but at 1600 the results are pretty awful, in B&W, it's much better, but still, almost any other camera would be better.

I got rid of my DP2 for the same reasons the OP was worried about. It's cool camera with a unique IQ, but ultimately not too versatile compared to most digital cameras out today.
