Although it is quite clear none of you have a sophisticated enough visual palate to appreciate the brilliance of this series of photographic masterpieces and near-masterpieces, I post this as a public service in a futile effort to incrementally improve your appreciation of my genius.
You are indeed welcome, however, to post your paltry attempts at photography to this thread, provided said attempts were taken whilst hiking. Thank you.

Of course ... when hiking through the Australian wilderness, one needs to wary of the 'forest nymphs!'

Obviously I go hiking in the wrong places, Keith... No forest nymphs at Ridley Creek State Park, PA 🙁 - Just boring azz trees n stuff... I wants me some forest nymphs! Guess I gotta go to Oz!

Nick I do like your post but feel I need to say.
"Hiking" is going by foot where machine has not been. Manicured trees and lawns as well as Asphalt are not in fact seen when hiking.

Nice pic... and fair enough. This is as good as it gets for me for these parts... (without driving a distance...)

In the spirit of your hike, Nick:
hiking in the wilds of the Monterey Bay walkway

and a little further into the hills:

Damn, I've never seen one here in Victoria. Have to look harder. I suppose the best time to catch them is near a watering hole when they come out of hiding to drink. I'll need a long telephoto lens as you wouldn't want to spook them. Or maybe Bruce Gilden approach could work???

OK, I'll play. The following shots were taken in the Columbia River Gorge with my Mamiya 6. They were sent to Precision Camera for developing and scanning.

The Columbia River Gorge is a great place to go hiking and this Oregonian goes there frequently. I hope to post more shots taken there as the weather improves this spring.
