Himatic 7 reassembling

I'm posting it again because it was not particularly readable when in the "filter problem" thread ;
there are those three little bolts the front plate retaining screws are attached to, they went off and I cannot put them back into position, here are a couple of photos for more clarity...

the little black and white arrow shows where the part should normally goes but I'm unable to fit it in its usual place of dwelling...

I have the same problem with one of the bolts on my Himatic 9. I haven't done anything with it yet, but I was thinking of using solder, like for jewlery repair. Regular electronics solder (60% lead/40% tin) is too soft, it would need to be silver based.

Do you think it was originally riveted to the plate?

Yes, the round nut was rivited to the plate. Two of the three screws came out okay, leaving the nut attached to the plate. The third screw was frozen to the nut, so it twisted the back of the nut loose from the plate. At first it just spun, but I twisted and pulled until it popped out. I popped it back in place, but it is a loose fit.

If you don't have the tools to rerivet it then I would use some JB Weld, 2 part epoxy, Loctite any any other quality Metal Adhesive.

Superglue is one Cyanoacrylate based glue. If thats all you can lay your hands on then it'll probably work. You won't have much time to position it in place, so ensure that the rivet will push in rapidly before applying the glue.

If you can, have a look at the Loctite range, they have a large range of metal bonding glues.

Hi, thanks a lot.
Pompiere and I have different problems actually, but it can be solved in similar ways : while Pompiere's got a loose fit, I cannot put the bolt in position because the hole is to small. Maybe I could think about shortening the rivet so that it has the right length? Or file the holes so that they are big enough? But there will be glue at some point (or will ask a watchmaker to solder it).

I eventually managed to reassemble my camera, thanks to your help.
The holes were too small so I filed them to the correct size, and secured the bolts with glue.
